Anna Tells the Story of Metro Exodus in Latest Trailer

Inspired by Dmitry Glukhovsky’s novel Metro 2035 , Metro Exodus tells the story of a band of Spartan Ranger survivors who have survived a nuclear war that devastated Earth. These survivors reside in the Metro tunnels underneath Moscow, the only safe-ish refuge from radiation and the mutated beasts it created. As Artyom, players must lead these Spartan Rangers as they flee across Russia in search of a new life, and the latest trailer for the game gives a glimpse into the sort of world players will need to tackle.

The trailer is narrated by Artyom’s wife Anna, the best sniper of the Spartan Order, as the team boards the Aurora steam train and heads east in an epic year-long journey. If you were expecting bleak winter landscapes, then you’ll be getting those as the survivors emerge onto the streets of Moscow, but we also get a look at the type of landscapes you might not have been expecting, including the bistering sands of the Caspian desert. You’ll even get a sample of the game’s soundtrack composed by Alexey Omelchuk.

You can join the Spartan Rangers on their journey when the game is released on February 15th. Until that happens, keep your eyes open on TA for more gameplay reveals before the game hits stores.

Not to be deterred by Fallout 76 's disastrous collector’s edition, 4A Games have announced an Artyom Edition for Metro Exodus. There are two key differences though: there’s only ten of them, and you can’t buy them…

In case you missed it, the video above features Dmitry Glukovsky, author of the Metro novels from which the games have sprung. He’s putting his signed seal of approval on this impressive edition in a steel ammo crate. It contains:

  • A fully-functionally, hand-made Nixie Watch
  • A Gas Mask and Filter
  • A working Bullet Lighter made from a decommissioned sniper shell
  • A hand-made steel Spartan dog tag, personalised for the recipient
  • A leather map case and map of the Aurora’s journey
  • A personalised Certificate of Ownership, signed by Dmitry Glukhovsky and 4A Games’ Creative Director Andrew “Prof” Prokhorov

How can 4A Games avoid a PR disaster when paying customers aren’t satisfied? It’s simple: Don’t make them pay for it. With only ten made and one given to 4A Games, the only way any of us can get hold of the remaining nine is to look out for contests on Metro 's social media. If you’re interested you should register on the official site and follow the game on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

If you still want a fancy edition but don’t quite want to look like a doomsday prepper, you can go for the slightly less full-on Spartan Edition, Aurora Edition or Gold Edition.

Metro Exodus will be departing on February 15th 2019.

Metro Exodus Goes Behind the Scenes in New Documentary

Like a lot of games that are releasing soon, Metro Exodus has ramped up the game’s publicity to prepare gamers for their time in the apocalyptic world. The latest trailer is the first in a three part documentary called “The Making of Metro Exodus” that features interviews with the developers, and never-before-seen art and footage from the game’s development.

In the first episode, players meet the people who founded 4A Games, and discover their ambition to bring Dmitry Glukhovsky’s Metro novels to the gaming world.

There’s just over a month to wait for the latest chapter in the franchise as it releases on February 15th. Those awaiting episode 2 of the documentary only have to wait until next week.
