Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Mega Thread

The Zombies Return In Full Force In Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s New Trailer

The Call of Duty experience just wouldn’t be the same without a never-ending serving of zombies, and as you can expect, Treyarch has us covered again with the Zombie offering in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. A new trailer has been released titled “Chaos Story”, which reveals the story behind the Zombie experience. Players will follow Scarlett Rhodes as she is out on a mission to solve mystery of the disappearance of her eccentric father.

Along with Scarlett Rhodes will be three loyal outcasts on the new adventure as they all team up to take on waves upon waves of undead, which will come in all sorts of different shapes, forms and sizes. The band of zombie fighters will be travelling through time, using a unique selection of weapons, and doing their best to uncover a prized relic that packs enough power to threaten all of humanity. Players will be able to try out three different Zombie experiences at launch, these being IX, Voyage of Despair, and Blood of the Dead. Check out the new content in the following trailer:

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Gets a Mystery Box

Up until recently, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 had settled on four editions. We’d seen the standard edition, the digital only Digital Deluxe and Digital Deluxe Enhanced editions, and the physical only Pro Edition. In comparison to the Juggernog Edition that was released for Treyarch’s last title Black Ops III, all of these were fairly tame. However, with the appearance of the Mystery Box Edition, it seems like we spoke too soon.

The super-duper Mystery Box Edition, now the fifth version of the game for those keeping count, is for those really looking to splash the cash. The Mystery Box is only available physically from select retailers and contains:

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 game
  • Black Ops Pass
  • Mystery box
  • 3 Zombies lithographs
  • 10 specialist patches
  • Call of Duty Zombies Dark Horse comic issue #1
  • 4 exclusive Figpins
  • 1,000 piece Zombies jigsaw puzzle
  • Steelbook
  • Popsocket
  • Additional bonus content

If that isn’t enough, there’s also a new trailer looking at the story behind the Blood of the Dead zombies campaign. The re-imagined Mob of the Dead campaign takes Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo and Nikolai below Alcatraz Penitentiary to a secret laboratory. The quartet were looking to secure the future predicted by the Kronorium, but with the appearance of a never-ending horde of zombies, that future is looking anything but certain right now.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and its three zombies campaigns will be hitting retailers on October 12th.

Blackout stuff

Awesome, thanks for sharing! I will have to wait til next Friday for the beta sadly.

Beta is live on PS4. Any @PS4Players pre-ordered and will be on the beta?

Will get a pre-order in just for the beta.
Doubt I’ll actually buy it though.
Never played Blops 3.

Hopefully I’ll have a little this weekend, in the evenings at least.

You spelled “I’ll play Neverwinter” wrong.

Can’t wait to see some actual gameplay footage on Blackout.

Sadly not included in this beta.
I think they plan to have a separate beta later in the year, just for that mode.

Makes me wonder if the mode will even be included at launch.

Beta for Blackout is in Sept.

Hopefully it’s an open beta.

I played a bit yesterday and had fun… the normal frustration with “core” of course but liked the fast paced run and gun that cod is really known for.

I’ll get a few more matches in throughout the beta I’m sure and look forward to giving blackout a shot.

I pre-ordered the game and will be online for the beta this Friday when it begins (XB1).

I played up until I reached Lv5 (which took me longer than I’d like to admit).
Specifically because that unlocked the “Create A Class” option, which is one of the best bits of CoD MP.

It was a bit annoying that they didn’t explain how to change class before you unlock that (which you can, in-game), changing class was a bit more intuitive at least.

I didn’t get completely tanked and got some decent kills, though my aim is definitely out and I was scraping a 1.0 KD.

Some of the class skills are fun, others are a bit OP and a few seem relatively rubbish. Unsurprising really but it gets discovered quickly and you already find a lot of people running the same setup for that reason.

Sliding is a bit crazy, you go quite far, not too bad though. At least there’s no wall-running and only 1 class has a grapple-gun.

I’d be half tempted if there were a few others who wanted to play. I don’t think it’s changed too much from the previous Black Ops iterations, which I did enjoy back when.

I will be playing it as I do with all the COD titles… how long it keeps me engaged though, only time will tell.

I liked that the kill cam showed whether it was a 1v1 or if you were gunned down by multiples.

Totally agree on the classes as well. They will need to do some buffing/nerfing I am sure to compensate. Also there were multiple times when I went to pop my skill and got shot at the same time and lost it which hopefully they fix that as well.

Changing the final clip to POTG instead of Final Kill was mildly surprising too.

Usually made for more entertaining watching at least. Unless I was the one getting gunned down…

I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews regarding the first weekend of the beta. Mainly focusing on the body armour and max health. Hopefully they can make some final changes before the release in Oct.

Yeah, I didn’t like coming around the corner with multiple people having the body armor on and had no chance to get a multi kill really.

I likely won’t care much about the body armor as I typically play hard core but for those that play core, there is def some things they need to iron out to put everyone on a somewhat even playing field.

Is preordering the only way to get in the beta? Is it a closed beta?

Yep its a private beta. Pre-order from a retailer to get a code or pre-purchase from the PSN/MS store to get instant access.
