Blood Bowl 2

Since the NFL got squeamish about the violence in the Blitz series, something has been missing from the sports genre. Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide are trying to rectify that situation.

Blood Bowl II is Cyanide’s second attempt to translate the long-running Games Workshop tabletop game to the digital format. The concept is a blend of football or rugby with the Warhammer fantasy races, like Orcs, Skaven, Dark Elves, and Lizardmen.

The result is a game that is just as much about dishing out brutal hits as it is about getting the ball in the end zone. You can check out the launch trailer (above) and a couple of sample plays as the High Elves take on the Orcs and the Skaven duke it out with the Dwarves.

Blood Bowl II is out tomorrow, September 22, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

My Thoughts:

I played the crap out of the first one. Today was the first time I have seen anything about 2 and it came out yesterday.

Have a link to the article, or possibly the gameplay video? I loved playing the Blitz series, but now everyone has become a “PC bro”. Too much violence in games or whatever.

Blood Bowl is more like chess. It is turn/rolll of the die based.
